Silhouette Technical Information

Silhouette has FDA 510(k) approval and CE Mark registration.

ARANZ Medical, the developer and manufacturer of Silhouette, is quality assured as an ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) and ISO 9001 certified company and is audited annually by a notified body.

SilhouetteCentral is a server based software application for storing and managing wound information captured with SilhouetteStar+SilhouetteConnect wound assessment devices.

• Patient demographic information and associated measurement data is stored in a Microsoft SQL Server database.
• Silhouette images are 2048px wide and 1536px high. Each image within Silhouette takes approximately 700KB of storage space. They can be exported as JPEG or PNG files.
• Images are 3MP. Images are stored in a compressed format with anonymized file names.
• Reports are created and stored in PDF format.
• Both the database and associated images and reports can be stored on the same or different machines depending on the installation criteria.
• The database is password protected and there are various methods built into SQL Server to encrypt both the database and the connection between the database and the SilhouetteCentral web application.
• SilhouetteCentral runs in IIS on Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 machines, including on servers in a virtualized environment.
• SilhouetteCentral has been developed to be accessed from Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7 and above.
• Silhouette exports images and data into standard format (jpeg and .csv formats)
• SilhouetteCentral interfaces with other medical records systems using standard formats including HL7 and DICOM, and is designed to support HIPAA and HITECH compliance.
